September meeting

Thanks to everyone who came to the meeting on 2nd September, some positive reactions to the Mayor of Casterbridge from some of you who had disliked it on a previous read. Our next book is by Dan Vyleta, The Crooked Maid, is set in Vienna in 1948, and was described by The Independent as ‘a thrilling tale of war crimes, family secrets, murder and blackmail’. Dan is also appearing at Durham Book Festival with Lauren Owen on Saturday 11 th October at 3 pm for more information go to http://durhambookfestival.com/programme/event/lauren-owen-and-dan-vyleta-masters-of-the-macabre/

I’m looking forward to discussing the book with the group on Tues 7th October
